Last week marked a significant milestone for food policy in Wales with the release of two important publications – with the work of Food Cardiff featured as an exemplar case study in both documents.

At a recent event in Cardiff’s Senedd, experts and policy leaders gathered to discuss the updated Pedestrian Pound report by UK walking charity Living Streets. The key message? Walkable communities are not just good for our health and the environment—they’re also good for business.

The recycling scheme is a powerful example of how businesses can integrate environmental responsibility with social impact — and they’re now inviting more venues to join the movement.

This is an exciting time to join Food Cardiff as its ambitious strategy to build a strong good food network in the city means Cardiff has recently become only the fourth place in the UK to achieve the Gold Sustainable Food Places Award.

We’re taking a look back at The Good Food Cardiff Autumn Festival with highlights from the 32 schools and community groups which Food Cardiff supported with grants.

The Cardiff Community Food Collective brings together representatives from food pantries, community kitchens, and allotments and includes dieticians from Public Health Wales, all united by a shared mission.

‘Cardiff Good Food Conversations’ are a much-needed opportunity for Cardiff citizens to talk about what they really want from food.

The Cardiff Met catering team has retained the maximum three star rating from the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA).

This Sustainable Food Places event, held in Westminster on the 13th November, is set to showcase their networks’ 110+ food partnerships’ nations-wide locally-powered solutions to health inequalities, our struggling economy, and our response to the global climatic crisis. 

An initiative, which aims to make healthy, planet-friendly fruit and veg more accessible and affordable for everyone – especially those facing low incomes and health inequalities – is expanding as it enters the next phase of its development.
