The Good Food Cardiff Autumn Festival is just around the corner, and Food Cardiff will be kicking things off with the Good Food Zone at the St Fagans Food Festival (13-14 September). This is your chance to be part of one of Wales’ leading food festivals – and to help us celebrate Cardiff being named one of the most sustainable food places in the UK
We’re calling on all organisations, community groups, individuals or businesses to put forward their ideas for events, workshops or talks for the Good Food Cardiff Zone. Do you have a story to tell about sustainable food? An expert demonstration you could deliver? Or an engaging workshop to inspire others?
Last year, the Good Food Cardiff Zone was one of the highlights of the festival with a great range of sessions and stalls. To give you a taste of what’s possible, here are just a few examples of what people delivered last year:
- Salad Talk and Taste by Cardiff Salad Garden: Inspiring healthy eating and local produce.
- Tropical Treats: Plantain Cooking Demonstration by Tremorfa Pantry: Sharing diverse culinary skills.
- Sour Dough Bread Demo by David Le Masurier of Pettigrew Bakeries: Showcasing artisan baking.
- Pickle for the Planet with Green Squirrel: Demonstrating sustainable food preservation.
- Fermented Foods and Drinks: Start Your Journey to Health by Absorb: Exploring the health benefits of fermented foods.
- Forbidden fruit: poetry writing with Orchard Cardiff and Sarah Featherstone: Combining food themes with creative expression.
Whether you’re a business, a community group, or an individual, you can apply for a stall or to run a workshop or demo. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your work, connect with the community, and contribute to Cardiff’s reputation as a leading sustainable food city.
Please ensure you have Public Liability insurance, are willing to provide a risk assessment, and if offering food samples, have a food hygiene certificate. And please note that no products can be sold as part of these sessions.
Complete this form by 20 July and be a part of the Good Food Cardiff Zone!
