Later this month, you are invited to join individuals, organisations and businesses from across the city for our next Food Cardiff network meeting.
Taking place from 5-7pm on the 17 July, simply sign up here to register your place – it’s free to attend and you don’t have to have been to any previous meetings to join in.
This time, we are being hosted by the team from the brilliant Spit & Sawdust Skate Park in Splott. Following feedback from our last event, the event is loosely themed around feeding children and young people, which is why we’ve chosen to highlight this brilliant venue which is run as a not-for-profit social enterprise (meaning all surplus is put back into the organisation to fund skate, art and food projects).
As well as offering skate sessions for kids and adults of all ages, the on-site café at Spit & Sawdust serves a menu of homemade alternatives to the typical ‘fast food’ which is often made available to children and teens.
Using as many local suppliers who have organic/ethical credentials as possible (such as Penrhiw Farm, Trealy Farm, and Inner City Pickle) the Spit & Sawdust menu is also affordably priced, with hot drinks starting from £1. There are also plenty of homemade options for vegans and veggies, too.
Come and find out more about this values-driven venue at our next Food Cardiff meet up; canapes will be provided by the Spit & Sawdust team, and the bar will be serving a range of drinks (including non-alcoholic options and beers from local breweries). Families and children are all welcome, and the skate park will be open for those who fancy having a go!
The event will also include a Panel Discussion & Q&A with 3-4 young people on the topic of Good Food.
