We know that Cardiff is a city made up of diverse geographic, cultural and social neighbourhoods, all with strong local identities and community spirit.
Lots of our local communities already have good food projects up and running – things like markets, community gardens, food co-ops and clubs, pantries, cooking classes and more.
It’s clear that local people are the best placed to lead the change that they want to see in their own neighbourhoods. So Food Cardiff would like to support those people to create their own local good food network, action plan and activities.
This is the idea behind our Good Food Neighbourhood programme. We’re looking for areas of the city which we can help – and fund – to set up neighbourhood food projects.
We ran a pilot in three areas at the end of 2021 and are now looking at rolling the scheme out across the city.
