Food is at the heart of many of the environmental issues we face. With 20% of total global direct carbon emissions linked to food and agriculture, it’s clear that we urgently need to reduce the impact of our current food system. Change will be essential if we want to keep the global temperature rise well below the 2 degrees as stipulated in the Paris Agreement.
WWF’s updated Livewell Guidelines have been created to illustrate the minimal dietary changes required to reach that 2 degree target. By following the simple steps presented in the report – such as eating more plants, legumes and grains – we could help to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030. And the great thing about Livewell is that it’s accessible to everyone.
