Calling all teachers: do you know about the educational services on offer at Hendrewennol Fruit Garden? Join the team on June 24th for a free ‘Science and Strawberries’ event to see the farm’s facilities, try some exciting outdoor science activities and pick some lovely fruit.

This event is organised by The Association for Science Education.
Amgeuddfa Cymru’s OPAL Community Scientist, Barbara Brown, will be running a workshop to encourage teachers to investigate the school environment where they work and identify the plant and animal species around.
Ruth Coakley is a Senior Primary PGCE lecturer for Science andKnowledge and Understanding of the World. She is also the WelshRepresentative on the ASE Primary Committee. Ruth initially completed a degree in Oceanography, followed by a PGCE in primary science, and a Masters in Education. She recently completed Level 3 Forest Schooltraining. Ruth will use this background to explore a variety of activities suited to developing creativity in science in the outdoors.
There will also be an opportunity to look at the facilities available in Hendrewennol and pick some strawberries.
